SEPTEMBER NEWS

Year 6 has started in a very positive way, with all children returning refreshed from their long summer holidays. Although it is very early days, all children have settled into the routines well, and have started to meet the expectations of Year 6 really well.
Well done all.
We have set homework this week, with a folder helping the children keep these tasks organised. We do expect this to be handed each and every Monday along with their reading records too.
If something does happen during the week to prevent this homework being completed – please do let us know.

OCTOBER NEWS

Year 6 has continued in a very positive way, with all children having settled well into the routines of Year 6. A huge well done to all of the children in Year 6 who are making huge efforts with their learning.
We have completed some great extended writing in our Authors lessons, and both classes have enjoyed using L.B.Q in many of our Maths lessons.

We are all looking forward to our C.P.R. training in our Enquiry next week too, which will continue to answer our Enquiry question of ‘How are lives saved’?

Our first group of Year 6 children braved the weather last week to complete their Stage 1 and 2 Bikeability training. Bikeability teaches children essential life skills, promoting safe and independent cycling on roads, and encourages healthier, more sustainable travel by improving confident and practical cycling skills.

The highlight of the term so far has been our TED presentations in Enquiry. These mini lessons have been child-led, informative and included power point presentations, hand-outs and even quizzes to test the class at the end. Well done all involved with this.

We look forward to seeing you soon for our first formal parents meeting of the academic year,

Kind regards

Mr MacMahon & Mrs Storey.
